SCENIC DESIGN - ELDRED THEATER - SENIOR CAPSTONE

The King Stag takes place both in the Castle of the King and the fantastical Forest. The concept of the show relied around the juxtaposition of the fantastical elements and increasing the audience’s awareness that they are seeing a show.

DROOD was put on by the CWRU Footlighters, a fully student-run musical theater troupe at Case Western Reserve University. The main goals were using the ideas and ideals of Victorian Paper Theaters in a new and small space while allowing the space to be malleable enough to become many locations

IF/THEN

SCENIC & LIGHTING DESIGN - CWRU FOOTLIGHTERS - CARLTON COMMONS

If/Then was put on by the CWRU Footlighters, a fully student-run musical theater troupe at Case Western Reserve University. Creating a space that felt both like New York City but also like it could be many interiors and exteriors resulted in the design of many back-lit flats and two hexagonal moving platforms.

The Drowsy Chaperone was put on by the Eldred Theater Department at Case Western Reserve University. Serving as Assistant Set Designer to Jill Davis, I focused on furniture, set dressing and helped with the overall art deco look/research and the concept of all props and special effects coming from inside the world of the apartment.

Into The Woods was put on by the CWRU Footlighters, a fully student-run musical theater troupe at Case Western Reserve University. The concept: A library where the characters in the story emerged from the books and told their story trapped in the library until they fight their way out.

LEGALLY BLONDE

Legally Blonde was put on by the CWRU Footlighters, a fully student-run musical theater troupe at Case Western Reserve University. A musical with 18 different locations in a theater with no wings resulted in the use of a three sided turntable.

Les Mis was put on by The Columbus Academy Student Theater High School Department. This 360° 4'x16' barricade design was achieved using many small platforms hidden by broken pieces of furniture sourced from the surrounding areas and scene shop.

Agnes of God was a production put on by the student group Players Theater Group. The dual words of a psychiatrists office and a nuns abbey fought for dominance as Agnes’ mind drifted back and forth.

My first full set design. A play within a play set in a community theater I learned very quickly that the first mistress of all design is the message of the show and that that always takes precedent over aesthetic or personal wants.
